VASCO: Residents from the villages of Cortalim and Dabolim constituencies once again on Monday gheraoed Vasco PWD engineer over the exorbitant water bills. Residents have demanded a solution on this issue from the PWD.
Acche Din seems to be a distant dream for the Goans in the BJP government. People are facing lots of hardships in getting their basic necessities fulfilled.
A similar situation occurred a few days back when the residents from Dabolim, Cortalim constituency had confronted the PWD(water supply) engineer over receiving the hiked water bills. Agitated locals had also given an ultimatum of a few days to the PWD engineer to come up with a concrete solution on this matter.
On Monday morning, a group of agitated residents from Bogmalo, Chicolna, Dabolim, Cortalim area confronted the PWD engineer and bombarded them with a series of questions over the hiked water bills and the steps taken by the PWD engineer on the exorbitant charge of water bills which people have received.
Locals at the spot also informed the PWD engineer that they were receiving bills between Rs 150 to 200, but suddenly, they were getting exorbitant water bills ranging in thousands of rupees, which is unbelievably unaffordable for the common person.
Later, locals also mentioned that they would make a partial payment of the water bills and requested the PWD engineer write an official letter to his higher officials to get the solution over these exorbitant water bills.
The PWD engineer assured agitated residents to write about their grievances to his higher-ups and revert to the locals.
