MARGAO: Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira said that the SFX exposition in itself shows how secular the Government of Goa is.

Sequeira in his address asserted that students and youth are the wealth of the Country. The future of Goa and nation is in their hands. Whatever one desires to undertake, leave no stone unturned to give the best. Be serious and committed in whatever you do. Persistence is the secret of success, he added.
He said, the Government is working for the upliftment of the Goans alongwith the overall development of the State and appealed to work hand in hand to strive and ensure that we preserve our beautiful State.
In 1947 India gained independence from British rule but Goa which was under the Portuguese control took another 14 years to get liberated. For this freedom moment many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives, he said.
Government has not forgotten the families of the freedom fighters. Government has provided jobs to most of the freedom fighters children. Government has also recognised the sacrifice of those individuals who lost their life by giving a certificate of honour and financial help recently.
Government understands the sufferings that these families have gone through to achieve liberation for Goa. It is now our responsibility to preserve this victory for which so many people have sacrificed a lot, he said.
For last 10 years Goa has witnessed tremendous development in the field of infrastructure, healthcare and social upliftment, he remarked.
Commending the leadership of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi, he said that Goa is marching towards systematic development and prosperity. Like wise Chief Minister Dr.Pramod Sawant is working tirelessly towards growth and betterment of the State.The infrastructural development achieved by Dr. Sawant Goverment is really noteworthy and commendable. Shri. Sequeira added.
