GAUNDALIM: Police in Old Goa have arrested a ferryboat worker for allegedly harassing a 14-year-old girl and trying to offend her modesty.
According to the accusation made by the girl’s mother, the accused, Sudesh Tari, a ferryboat employee, followed the victim, asked for her telephone number, and attempted to kiss and grasp her hand while they were on the ferry.
When the victim was heading home after arriving at the ferry boat at the Gaundalim ferry ramp, the accused stalked her once more and began pleading with her for her telephone number.
Sections 74 and 78 of the BNS 2023 and Section 8 of the Goa Children Act have been used to record an offense, and PSI is looking into the matter.
