PANAJI: The State government has marginally decreased the capped treatment rate for COVID19 in private hospitals.
An order issued by Additional Secretary Vikas S.N Gaunekar says, “Considering the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases in the State of Goa, and in order to make private services more affordable to the common man during the COVID 19 crisis, Government hereby reduces the capped rates prescribed vide Order read above for COVID-19 patients in Private hospitals with ICU facilities.”
As per the new rates the ICU with ventilator will cost Rs 19200/day, which was earlier Rs 24,000.
A private room prices have been reduced from 16,000 to Rs 12,000 and a Twin sharing room has been reduced from Rs 13,400 to 10400/day.
Similarly, a general ward with COVID charge would be Rs 8,000, which was earlier Rs 10,000.
The above Packages includes: Admission charges, Intensivist, Primary and Specialist Consultant charges, Bed charges, nursing, Resident Doctor, diet, PPE kits for staff, X-Ray, ECG, USG, 2D Echo, Cardiac Monitor, Infusion Pump, Catheterization, CBC, FBSL, PPBSL, HBA1c, Creatinine, liver function test, blood group, routine medicine including multivitamin, Vitamin C, Zinc, Vitamin D, Paracetamol, Antacid, Anti-allergic, HCQ, Azithromycin, Doxycycline, levofloxacin and dexamethasone, ivermectin, dietary charges.
The above Package does not include:
Diagnostic Interventions, Special drugs, Use of special equipment. Other special procedures/surgery etc. Extra Oxygen flow other than ICU
“The above Order shall take effect immediately and shall be applicable to all patients including patients already admitted and shall remain in force till 30th April 2021,” the order says.
