SALIGAO: Former Tourism Minister and former Saligao MLA Dilip Parulekar on Wednesday has come out in strong opposition to the expansion of Solid Waste Management Plant claiming that it will create a mess in the entire village.
The former minister also took a jibe at present Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar for failing to oppose the proposal for expansion of the garbage plant when he was the minister for housing.
“I urge all the Saligao voters not allow expansion for the Solid Waste Management Plant as it will create a mess in the entire village.” Parulekar said
He said, “I do not know the motive behind MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar as to why he did not oppose to this expansion proposal when he was the cabinet minister.”
Meanwhile, Parulekar said that he will urge the state government and BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanawade not to take this expansion forward and that to look for an alternate site anywhere other then Saligao.
