AERIAL VIEW
There is no doubt, given the hasty decision, Reginald is all set to join the Congress in a couple of days.
But the question now arises is whether the Congress leaders will welcome all the defectors who have deserted them since 2017?
Since 2017, almost 15 MLAs have s\deserted the party, and the majority of them have been recruited by the BJP.
Soon after their departure, the Congress has maintained that the door was closed for defectors and would get no re-entry into the party.
In that sense, even Reginald is a defector, and he too has to be measured with the same yardstick. Or is Reginald going to be an exception, is the question Goans want to know?

Barely a month after leaving the Congress, claiming the party was not serious about winning polls and being sidelined on important issues, former Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginald Lourenco made a Mega U-Turn and quit the Trinamool Congress.
Not just quitting the TMC, Reginald is again knocking on the doors of the Indian National Congress to take him back. A couple of hours after Reginald resigned from TMC, he was sent a “friend request” from Congress through a new recruit and former Congress MLA Michael Lobo.
For Goans, Reginald is no different, he went to TMC thinking the party would win and he would get a significant position and portfolio, but to his nightmare, nothing is happening in Goa. There will be no NEW DAWN for Mamata Banerjee and Prashant Kishore in Goa.
Knowing how opportunistic Reginald is, he quickly sent an SOS to Michael Lobo and his close friend from Margao to work on his re-entry into Congress.
So why should Congress take Reginald back? We know that the article may be redundant by the time it is published as Reginald may be recruited to the party at any moment. But still, we intend to speak the truth.
Girish Chodankar had rightly called Reginald a traitor; he bargained for a huge position from Congress and got the post of Working President, but in the same vein, he was two-timing the Congress by engaging in talks with Aam Aadmi Party.
But as the AAP talks failed, he switched over to the TMC.

Reginald has also lost credibility as a good human being, not just a politician.
He was considered one of the honest legislators in the Goa Legislative Assembly; Reginaldo did not only betray the trust of his voters but that of the entire Goa.
From Congress to AAP to TMC and back to Congress. How can Goans trust this man?
For all five years, he was hobnobbing with the BJP.
He was seen in the Chief Ministers or other Cabinet ministers office more than the Congress office and was the one who enjoyed all the facilities and got the projects sanctioned.
Mr Reginald, Goans supported you because you were sidelined by Congress, but the party had given you everything; still, you betrayed Goans and joined TMC. Now sensing that you are losing miserably to AAP’s Domnic Gaunkar, you are beating a hasty retreat.
We realise now that Reginaldo is a self-centred politician who thinks only of himself and wants more attention.
