PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today has urged the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) to see that Goa teams takes part in all sporting competitions during National Games event.
CM Sawant today attended the General Body meeting of the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG).
“I urged the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) to see that Goa teams takes part in all sporting competitions during National Games event. We will see that there is maximum participation,” said CM Sawant
He further said that 22 agendas were discussed in the meeting and all the associations were present for the meeting. Many agendas were passed that is appointing auditors or psysio therapists and appointment of coaches. SAG has also given its suggestions.
Sawant said that this general body meeting is held annually and its a routine meeting and not related specially to the National Games Goa.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) team, which was on a three-day visit to the State to take an overview of the preparations to conduct the 37th National Games in October-November this year, expressed its satisfaction over the preparations in Goa.
Speaking to media persons, Amitabh Sharma, IOA’s Executive Member and Chairman GTCC, said, “State of Goa is fully prepared. Traditional games like lagori, squay, rollball, Pencak Silat, an Indonesian martial art, etc, may be considered for inclusion along with 37 other sports disciplines.
