Goa Housing Board has categorically denied the false and baseless statements made in the news article that appeared in some sections of the print media stating that the Goa Housing Board land at Dhargalhas has been allotted to GMR on lease and is likely to be given to Mopa Airport Authority.
Goa Housing Board has informed that they had acquired land admeasuring 1,68,002.00 sq.mts for taking up its Housing Schemes in the year 2012. The Board is in the process of taking up development and the layout plans have been processed for approval/ sanction from various authorities and the same is in progress.
Chairman, Goa Housing Board, Shri Subhash Shirodkar refuted the false statement made by Mr. Jeet Arolkar, that the Board has leased land at Dhargal to the Construction Company GMR and land is to be given to Mopa Airport Authority.
GHB has also clarified that no proposal has been received from the Government to earmark land for Mopa Airport Authority. The Board will take up Housing Schemes on the Land Acquired by the Board with all amenities for the General Public. The layout consists of an area for Group Housing for Houses/Flats, for LIG, MIG and HIG Section of the Society. Also the layout includes 233 Residential plots for individual houses, area of 3200.00 sq.mts earmarked for Institution/Primary School, area of 2800.00 sq,mts earmarked for Community purpose and area of 2800.00 sq.mts for Commercial purpose.
The GHB is striving hard towards providing good quality affordable housing facilities to the public and has recently amended Housing Board rules in order to ensure that the tenements and plots are allotted to local Goans with minimum 30 years residence in the State. Further system of e-auction has been introduced for transparent and efficient way of auctioning the plots and tenements. Chairman GHB further stated that such irresponsible statements made by the local leaders only expose their ignorance and create unwanted confusion and has advised them to do proper research before commenting on any issues.
