PANAJI: Goa has become the first state to achieve 100% registration coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), enrolling all 41,098 eligible families under the world’s largest government-funded health assurance scheme.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced the milestone, crediting the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to the Hon’ble PM’s vision of ‘Healthcare for All’ — making quality medical care a right, not a privilege,” said Rane.
Under the scheme, eligible families are entitled to ₹5 lakh cashless hospitalisation benefits per year at empanelled hospitals. In Goa, 25 hospitals are part of this network, making healthcare more accessible to all sections of society.
The state government reaffirmed its resolve to strengthen the healthcare system further in pursuit of a “Swasth Bharat, Samarth Bharat.”
