“Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarani Bill is currently with Law Department, and as per procedure, it has to be published in the gazette as it is presented in the House, but that does not mean Governor has granted assent,” said Patnekar.
He further said that 77 starred and 221 unstarred questions were received for the two-day assembly session on Oct 18-19, along with three government bills.
Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill 2021, the bill passed in July this year, has been published in the Goa gazette for “general information” of the public.
Legislature Secretary Namrata Ulman said the bill is being published to fulfil Rule 138 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the Goa Legislative Assembly. She explained that this is an essential requirement for any bill passed by the House.
