PANAJI: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated on Friday that the BJP was elected because it has been a different party from the rest, but if we carry on in the same manner as the Congress, then there will be no point in our entering the country and leaving the Congress.
On Friday, Gadkari addressed the BJP Goa executive meeting in Taleigao, which was also attended by chief minister Pramod Sawant and president of the party’s Goa unit, Sadanand Tanavade.
Gadkari quoted senior BJP leader L K Advani as saying that the “BJP is a party with difference” during his 40-minute speech.
“Advaniji used to describe us as a different kind of party. We need to recognize our differences from other parties,” he said.
According to the union minister, the people chose the BJP because of the mistakes made by the Congress, and if we follow their lead, there will be no point in their departure and our arrival.
For this reason, he stated, “the cadres in the days to come should know that politics is the instrument of bringing social economic reforms.”
Gadkari stated that the BJP must eradicate corruption from the nation, which is why a plan must be in place.
Regarding politics in Maharashtra, Gadkari stated that there is a tendency for caste politics to be played there (Jatiyvadi rajkaran). “I made the decision to buck this trend. I have made it clear to people that I will not follow religious and caste norms (Jaat-Paat). “Jo karega jat ki baat, usko padegi kaske laath (you will receive a powerful kick for discussing caste),” he declared.
According to Gadkari, a person’s values, not their caste, make them superior.
In his speech to Goa cadres, Gadkari urged them to visit every constituency and bolster the party’s organization in order for the BJP to win the Goa assembly elections in 2027 and form the government.
