PANAJI: Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that timeline of 12 months to develop a comprehensive “Forest Management” plan.
During my recent interaction with the officials of the Forest Department, we have set an ambitious timeline of 12 months to develop a comprehensive “Forest Management” plan.
He further said that this progressive initiative is driven by our commitment to safeguard our precious forests and preserve our environment.
“Following the exemplary model set by Madhya Pradesh and other states, our vision is to create a thriving ecosystem that fosters the well-being of wildlife,” said Rane.
Rane said that they are in the process of sending our DCFs and Range Forest Officers to visit various Wildlife Sanctuaries to learn the implementation of Forest Management Plans and methodology.
“This will help us further enhance the wildlife sanctuary’s ecosystem. Initially, We are sending them to Ranthambore, Tadoba, Bandhavgarh & Jim Corbett Park,” he added.
Minister said that they are working on providing exposure to the officers to create the required ecosystem in the state of Goa.
He said that the government of India has sanctioned Rs. 189 crores, out of which 89 Crores have been released under the Department of Urban Development to upgrade water treatment plants across the state of Goa.
This project is being implemented with the assistance of CM DPramod Sawant, the PWD Department and the Minister for PWD.
It will benefit the people at large by aiding the proper distribution of water, propelling sustainable development & water conservation and improving urban infrastructure.
