Margao: Goa witnessed a grand finish to the 11th U/14 Mini National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2026 and the All India Inter Zonal Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2026, with teams from across the country delivering a strong display of talent, competitive spirit and sportsmanship.
The three day championships were held in Goa from September 7 to 9, 2026, and were organised by the Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association (GTBCA) in collaboration with the Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India (TBCFI) and the Sports Authority of Goa.
The biggest success for the host state came in the U/14 Girls category, where Goa emerged national champions. Goa finished ahead of Tamil Nadu, while Maharashtra and Karnataka shared third place.
The Goa boys also produced an impressive campaign in the U/14 Mini National Championship. Maharashtra claimed the title, with Goa finishing runners up. Andhra Pradesh and Pondicherry secured joint third place.
Goa also made its presence felt in the All India Inter Zonal Tennis Ball Cricket Championship. Uttar Pradesh won the men’s title, followed by Pondicherry in second place. Goa and Mumbai shared third place after strong performances during the competition.
In the All India Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2026 for men, Madhya Pradesh secured first place, while Western Uttar Pradesh finished second. Karnataka and Rajasthan shared third position.
The championships brought together players, coaches, managers and officials representing 24 states and zones from across India. Several closely contested matches highlighted the growing popularity and competitive level of tennis ball cricket.
The successful hosting of the national championships further strengthened Goa’s role in promoting tennis ball cricket and providing young athletes with opportunities to compete at the national level. The performances of the Goa girls, who lifted the U/14 national title, stood out as the highlight of the three day sporting event.
