PANAJI: Goa’s governor, PS Sreedharan Pillai, and chief minister, Pramod Sawant, wished the state’s residents a joyous Id-Ul-Zuha (Bakri-Eid).
“I extend my greetings and best wishes to all the people of Goa, especially the Muslim brethren,” the governor wrote in his message. Millions of Muslims throughout India celebrate the holy holiday of Id-Ul-Zuha, also known as Bakr-Eid.
It serves as a reminder of the virtues of selflessness, empathy, and fraternity, all of which are necessary to create the kind of inclusive, peaceful world that we all strive to create.
The Governor further added, “Goa has inherited a rich and glorious legacy of peace and communal harmony. We should endeavour to further enrich this unique tradition.”
CM Sawant said, “On this joyful occasion, let us come together to build our society stronger and more self-sustainable by contributing towards the growth and development of this State.”
