PANAJI: The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has chosen to keep the “COVID-19 amnesty scheme” open for businesses until November 30.
This year June 23 saw the introduction of the amnesty program. Through the disruption of supply chains, a decline in demand, and operational difficulties, the program seeks to lessen the financial burden on and provide support to industries impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The goal of IDC is to bring back to life more than 600 industrial units that were rendered inoperable by the pandemic and other issues.
The scheme has resulted in a significant reduction of penal interest to 5% for industries that have not paid lease rent, interest on premiums, or premiums.
