PANAJI: MLA Kedar Naik has stressed the need for strict safety precautions during adventure tourism activities, saying Goa’s image as a safe tourist destination must be protected at all costs.
Referring to the viral parasailing video that was initially believed to have been shot in Goa, Naik clarified that it was later confirmed that the incident had taken place outside the state. However, he said the episode should serve as a reminder for tourism operators in Goa to remain vigilant about tourist safety.
Naik said visitors arriving in Goa should return home with pleasant memories and positive experiences. He emphasized that all adventure activities, including parasailing and boat rides, must strictly follow safety protocols and ensure the use of proper safety equipment.
The MLA further stated that tourism can continue to grow only if tourists feel secure while visiting the state. He urged all stakeholders in the tourism sector to adopt every possible precaution to prevent such mishaps from occurring in Goa in the future.
Naik also appealed to operators to prioritise responsible tourism practices so that Goa continues to maintain its reputation as a safe and welcoming destination for travellers.
