CANACONA: Canacona MLA and Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar took part in the BJP’s nationwide ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’ on Sunday, the third day of the 3-day campaign and visited House-to-House at Booth No.5 of Agonda Village.
Tawadkar in a video made viral on social media stated, ‘since morning we are goin house to house in Agonda village Booth n.05 as part of booth sampark abhiyan. The main intention of the visits is to inform the people house-to-house what the Government of India brought out schemes had actually reached to the common men or no. Besides, in reality whether several Yojna of ‘Goy Sarkar’ reaching each of them or no. whether any issues or questions of the people are there of the people from these locality, like Electricity, Water, Roads we had discussed with the people and sought their responses throughout the day. I was accompanied by various Karyakartas including Booth samittee, Mahilas and others to accomplish this task given by the party. I understood our karyakartas are doing great job in reaching out to the people in this booth, and I expect our karyakartas to continue the good work with the people to reach out to the last person’.
According to sources, Speaker Tawadkar came with the official Car alongwith police Jeep and got down to mingle with the Karyakartas freely as security personnel and policemen providing the security cover and reportedly keeping the karyakartas and others at a safe distance to avoid any breach or lapse of security of the Speaker.
The Speaker is learnt to have taken a lunch break, and again later joined in the house-to-house abhiyan, covering some more houses, and once again took a break, going away in the official jeep in the evening time leaving the Karyakartas, who later dispersed.
Interestingly, Tawadkar’s Ghar-Ghar abhiyan of BJP’s Gaon Chalo Abhiyan was mixed with atleast two Intruz Mel playing and also visiting house –to-house in the same locality of Karashirmoll area during the day.
