The young Cricketers must follow the footsteps of legendary Goan Cricketer Dilip Sardessai and work hard with utmost dedication and devotion stated Digambar Kamat during the opening Ceremony of Late Radhabai Vasant Kamat Memorial under 13 Inter RCC Cricket Tournament organized by Sparkling Stars Association, Aquem in collaboration with The Sports Authority of Goa at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium today.
I had the honour to institute a Sports Award in the name of great Cricketer Dilip Sadessai during my tenure as Chief Minister. This State Award was instituted to recognize the outstanding performance of a Goan Sports person stated Digambar Kamat.
Goan Cricketer Debashish Bagchi while speaking on the occasion appealed to the players to follow the technic of Cricket and not fall prey for commercial gains in commercialised new versions of Cricket.
Special Invitee Yogiraj Kamat, Vice President of Sparkling Stars Association Gurunath Lad, Co-ordinator of the tournament Vishal Lad, Ponda RCC coach Marian Anthony, Vasco RCC coach Ajay Chavan and Margao RCC coach Sandeep Naik and others were present for the inaugural function.
The 35 Overs Tournament will have almost 9 matches in the first phase. The outstanding team will be given special medals and prizes said Gurunath Lad.
