Margao: “Goans have always welcomed projects that cater to the needs of the people. The Atal Setu, Kala Academy, National Games Infrastructure, and Smart City are a few examples of Monuments of Corruption created by the corrupt BJP to empty the State Treasury & fill the Coffers of BJP Stakeholders,” charged Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
The Leader of the Opposition has accused the BJP of corruption, claiming that these projects were created to deplete the state treasury and benefit BJP stakeholders. These allegations were accompanied by strong condemnation of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, who suggested that some people habitually obstruct government projects.
Yuri Alemao emphasized that Goans have opposed projects imposed on them to please crony capitalists, and called for transparency and the consideration of public sentiment in all future projects.
Furthermore, Yuri Alemao criticized the BJP, alleging that projects created by the government in the past eleven years were of sub-standard quality due to kickbacks paid to BJP stakeholders by contractors.
In contrast, he praised the Congress for respecting the sentiments of Goans in the past. Yuri Alemao pointed out various issues with specific projects, such as the poor quality of work and resulting incidents like the blowing of tin sheets and the collapse of structures. He also raised concerns about the National Highway project reportedly causing fatalities and alleged scams in the electricity department.
In conclusion, Yuri Alemao warned the BJP to learn from the recent Lok Sabha election results and predicted a change of government in 2027.
