PANAJI: The Indian National Congress strongly condemns the BJP government’s blatant attempt to destroy Goa’s identity by tampering with DSLR and CRZ base plans to benefit wealthy outsiders and Delhi-based land sharks.
“This massive land scam is being carried out at the cost of Goan fishermen, shack owners, and the state’s fragile coastal ecosystem,” said Patkar
He further said that the forgery & Tampering – Survey plans have been illegally altered to reclassify land, facilitating unauthorized constructions along Goa’s coastline.
“Who authorized these fraudulent changes?,” he questioned
Patkar said that Johnson Fernandes, the top official heading both the DSLR & Environment Department, has been abruptly shunted out. Why was he removed?

The Goa Congress President also said that as to why are there no digital stamps available for changes made to base plans? What is the government trying to hide?
He said that the lack of transparency raises serious doubts about the legitimacy of these alterations.
Patkar also alleged that BJP Protects the Rich, Ignores Goans – Traditional Goan fishermen and shack owners are being pushed out, while wealthy outsiders and Delhi-based land sharks manipulate the law with the help of corrupt BJP ministers.
“The government is working against the interests of Goans and handing over our coastline to private players,” he said
Meanwhile, Patkar demanded full-fledged investigation into this scam to expose those responsible and Protection for Goan fishermen and shack owners whose livelihoods depend on Goa’s coastline.
“Immediate reversal of fraudulent land reclassifications that favor outsiders over Goans,” Patkar demanded
He also said that the BJP government is selling Goa to the highest bidder.
“Congress Party will not allow them to destroy Goa’s heritage, environment, and the livelihoods of thousands of Goans. We stand with the people in this fight to protect our land and identity.’ he added
