PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the state government is in process of bringing an exclusive bill to regulate the pre-primary education considering the mushrooming of this unregulated business in private sector.
“Government would bring and exclusive bill to regulate the pre-primary education considering the mushrooming’s of this
unregulated business in private sector and need for a strong statutory system to manage the same,” said CM Sawant
He further said that an online portal is being developed for online registration of all pre-primary and primary schools.
“As of December 31, 2022, the Government is in the process of streamlining the registration of all pre-primary & primary schools in the state
and the matter is under consideration in
accordance with the NEP-2020 guidelines,” he added
Sawant informed that the guidelines/circulars etc will be introduced shortly.
“168 Nos. of Govt. Primary Schools are
not used as primary schools in the State
of Goa at the start of academic year
2022-23,” he added
The Chief Minister said that 117 Nos. of Govt. Primary Schools are wholly or partly allotted to other Government Departments for their use and 16 Nos. of closed down Govt. Primary
Schools are in dilapidated condition.
