The State government on Saturday decided to streamline the process of granting process permissions for laterite, sand murmur & minor minerals.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said this after meeting with Advocate general Devidas Pangam, Director and Secretary of Directorate of Mines and Geology.
“It has been decided to streamline & ease the process of granting permission for laterite, sand, murrum & minor minerals. Minor minerals have also been brought out of the ambit of TCP Act. This move will help curbing the acts of illegal extraction/transportation of such minerals,” Sawant said.
Chief Minister has also appealed to the concerned stakeholders to make formal application to the Director of Mines, Govt of Goa, for carrying out minor mineral activities.
