PANAJI: While stating that merit should only be the criteria, the Governor of Goa, P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, today said that Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) should be completely free from political interference.
Governor P.S Sreedharan Pillai today inaugurated the new GPSC office on the third floor at EDC House in the capital.
“Merit should only be the criteria; Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) should be completely free from political interference,” said Pillai.
He further urged the GPSC to be committed to the state’s people giving justice to the people and the public money.
“We will try our level best to make our Goa the happiest place; all of us should try together; governments are servants of the people,” he added.
Jose Manuel Noronha, the Goa Public Service Commission chairman, has been appointed as the chairman of the standing committee of chairpersons of public service commissions (PSC).
He was appointed at a national conference held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
