MARGAO: Guardian Angel SC defeated Guirdolim SC 9-8 via sudden death to enter into the finals of the 45th Cana-Benaulim inter-village football tournament organized by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association and played at St. John de Baptista football ground, Benaulim.
Both the teams showcased their talent in front of large crowds but couldn’t break the deadlock and remained 0-0 at regulation time and made way for a penalty shoot-out to decide the finalist.
In the resultant tiebreaker Guardian Angel SC scored through Rayan Menezes, Ivo Costa, Godwin Da Costa, Princen Costa, Cyril Dias, Friedrich Fernandes, Russel Fernandes, Preston Castanha and Velroy Carvalho while Mario Fernandes, Joaquim Carvalho, Akram Yadwad, Valentino Carvalho, Moises D’Sa, Alreach Peixote, Melwin Carvalho and Fayden Pereira scored for Guirdolim SC.
