PANAJI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) today informed the High Court of Bombay at Goa that handball and beach handball will be organised in the ongoing 37th National Games Goa.
Following, the assurance from IOA, the Goa Handball Association (GHA) has withdrawn the petition.
The association had earlier told the high court there are apprehensions that handball will be dropped from the National Games this year as it was done in the case of last year’s edition of the Games, which was held in Gujarat.
The high court permitted the addition of the Handball Association of India and the Handball Federation of India as parties/respondents to the petition.
Gaurang Panandikar, the advocate representing Fernandes, said he would serve the petition to the federation and the Handball Association of India by email.
He added that he will also serve the National Games Technical Conduct Committee of the National Games.
