PANAJI: The Bombay High Court at Goa granted conditional bail to Uttar Pradesh resident Saurabh Sahni, who was arrested by the Goa Crime Branch in connection with the uploading of a viral video showing a foreign woman allegedly being harassed by Indian tourists for immoral purposes.
Sahni was arrested on April 15, 2026, in connection with Crime No. 35/2026 registered under Sections 75, 79, 144(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with Sections 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The order granting conditional bail was passed by Justice Jitendra Jain of the Bombay High Court at Goa earlier on Wednesday.
Senior Advocate Carlos Álvares Ferreira, along with advocates Galileo Teles and Nehal Govekar, appeared for Sahni, while Additional Public Prosecutor Swati Kamat Wagh represented the State.
The case had drawn attention after the video involving the foreign national surfaced online, prompting an investigation by the Goa Crime Branch into its alleged circulation and upload on digital platforms.
