PANAJI: The yellow alert for Goa was extended by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) until Saturday, June 8.
IMD stated that on June 6, 7, and 8, 2024, there is a high probability of isolated thunderstorms with lightning and winds of 30 to 40 mph over the North and South Goa districts of the State, despite the likelihood of light rain or thundershowers over those areas.
It stated that haze is probably present in certain areas over the state’s North and South Goa districts in the morning.
According to IMD, until June 5, the State’s maximum and lowest temperatures will be between 34 and 33 degrees Celsius and 28 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
A report on Sunday stated that during the past 24 hours, there have been sporadic instances of extremely light rainfall throughout the State.
Panaji recorded the highest maximum temperature of 35.5°C, while Dabolim and Panaji recorded the lowest minimum temperatures, 28.4°C and 35.5°C, respectively.
