New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said India is not merely preparing for the future but is actively shaping it, highlighting the country’s growing global influence and emergence as a trusted international partner.
Addressing members of the Indian community in Paris, the Prime Minister said that in today’s rapidly changing world, trust has become just as important as trade. He noted that nations are increasingly seeking dependable partners and resilient supply chains, and India is steadily establishing itself as a reliable force in the global economy.
Speaking about the changing nature of international relations, PM Modi said countries are looking beyond traditional economic ties and placing greater value on long term stability, credibility and mutual trust. He emphasized that India’s consistent growth and commitment to global cooperation have strengthened its standing on the world stage.
The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of the relationship between India and France, describing it as a key pillar of stability during a period marked by geopolitical uncertainty and global disruptions. He noted that the partnership between the two nations has been elevated to a Special Global Strategic Partnership, reflecting the depth of cooperation across multiple sectors.
According to PM Modi, India and France are expanding collaboration in areas such as defence, space technology, nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, critical minerals and high speed rail infrastructure. He said both countries are committed to advancing initiatives that contribute to global progress and shared prosperity.
Highlighting India’s economic engagement with the world, the Prime Minister said the country has been actively strengthening trade ties and entering into new agreements with major economies and regions. He pointed to recent trade developments as evidence of India’s growing integration with the global marketplace and its commitment to creating opportunities for businesses, innovators and workers.
Referring to discussions at the recent G7 Summit, PM Modi reiterated India’s call for more inclusive global governance and stronger engagement with developing nations. He stressed that sustainable growth, trusted technology and effective international cooperation can only be achieved through partnerships built on confidence, inclusivity and shared responsibility.
The address reflected India’s broader vision of positioning itself as a leading contributor to global development while deepening strategic partnerships with nations across the world.
