PANAJI: SP North Goa Akshat Kaushal informed that Arman Khan, one of the two accused apprehended yesterday from Colva for housebreaking and robbery at Miramar is a wanted criminal in Delhi and has more than 25 house-breaking thefts and burglary crimes registered against him.
The duo, 33-year-old Arman from Delhi and 22-year-old Pawan Gaud from Bhiwandi were arrested from a hotel at Colva.
“They are members of the infamous ‘Raziya Gang’ and had come to Goa with the motive of committing the crime, SP informed.
They stole valuables worth Rs 75,000 from a Miramar flat by breaking open the main latch of the flat. The duo had also stolen valuables worth Rs 3 lakh from Verna. All the stolen valuables have been recovered from the duo.
The accused were also involved in a home invasion that took place within the Verna police station’s jurisdiction, according to North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal. The SP stated, “All of the stolen goods from Verna and Panjim were valued at approximately Rs 3.5 lakh and were recovered from the accused.”
The SP claims that Arman Khan is wanted in Delhi and other states for his involvement in over 25 housebreaking thefts and that two robbery cases against Pawan Gaud have been filed in Thane, Maharashtra.
He claimed that the case was solved with the use of a scooter’s rental number plate provided by a rent-a-bike provider. The accused were lodging in a guest house in Colva when the scooter was rented out.
