Panaji: Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd. (IPSCDL) today announced the opening of the final stretch of road from Junction near Caculo Mall to the Bridge near Sewerage Treatment Plant, Tonca.
The newly constructed road spans 350 meters which has been made functional to improve traffic flow and connectivity in the area. The balance sewerage work in 150 m of the stretch from Taad-Maad to STP, Tonca, involving deep excavation will be taken up contingent on favourable site conditions at a later date.
The opening of the junction and road comes a day ahead of the Vat Purnima festivities that take place at Taad-Maad and will facilitate easy access to the devotees.
This area development is part of IPSCDL’s ongoing efforts to enhance urban mobility and provide better road infrastructure for the residents of Panaji under the Smart City Mission. The new road will enhance smoother commutes and reduce congestion, contributing to the overall development and modernization of the city.
A senior official from IPSCDL commented on this achievement, stating, “The opening of the Junction & New Road from Caculo Mall to Bridge near STP is a significant milestone in our mission to improve Panaji’s infrastructure. It exemplifies our commitment to creating efficient and sustainable urban solutions for the city’s residents. We are confident that this road will greatly benefit the community by easing traffic and enhancing connectivity.”
IPSCDL today also acknowledged and appreciated the support of the people of St. Inez and surrounding areas, and for bearing with patience the inconveniences faced during the execution of the work.
IPSCDL pointed out that during the last six to eight months the contractors faced various challenges and difficulties while laying the sewerage line due to the high water table which caused unprecedented delays.
