VASCO: With Ganesh Chaturthi approaching, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Friday inspected the Ganesh visarjan arrangements at Kharwado beach along with officials from various government departments.
During the joint inspection, Salkar reviewed the preparations for the safe and orderly immersion of Ganesh idols and directed the concerned departments to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the process.
Salkar said canoes would be deployed at Kharwado beach to assist devotees during the immersion of idols. The beach will also be cleaned and prepared to accommodate the large number of people expected to gather for visarjan.
A waterproof pandal will be erected at the site, along with adequate seating arrangements for devotees. The facility is expected to provide shelter and basic amenities, particularly in case of rain.
The MLA directed the departments concerned to coordinate and complete the necessary arrangements ahead of the festival. He stressed that cleanliness, safety and crowd management would be key priorities given the expected turnout at the beach.
Salkar also appealed to devotees to cooperate with the authorities and follow the arrangements at the site to ensure that the immersion process is conducted peacefully and smoothly.
The joint inspection was undertaken to assess the requirements at Kharwado beach and ensure that all essential facilities are in place before Ganesh visarjan begins.
