CANACONA: In a meaningful outreach effort, Canacona Municipal Councillor Shubham Komarpant, along with Shree Ravi Charitable Trust, visited the remote village of Khotigao to distribute school bags to students and saplings to local women as part of a community upliftment initiative.
Held at the Khotigao Panchayat open-air hall, the event saw the distribution of 150 school bags to children and plant saplings to women in coordination with Parvati Parivar and Adivasi Mahila Bachat Gath, Khotigao. The function was attended by former Sarpanch Umesh alias Daya Gaonkar and representatives of various local groups.
Addressing the gathering, Komarpant emphasized the importance of equitable educational opportunities for rural students. “Development is not just about roads and electricity, but about uplifting the standard of living, including in areas like education, sports, and culture. Our Trust works not to criticize but to support and empower the underprivileged,” he said.
Also present at the function were Sunay Komarpant, Suraj Komarpant, Ex-Panch Paiek, and Nagesh. The sapling distribution program aimed at promoting environmental awareness and was led by Parvati Parivar and Adivasi Mahila Bachat Gath.
