MARGAO: Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL) hopes to offer rent-a-bike services at five of its stations in Goa, as well as seven other stations along the Konkan Railway route. It has invited an operator to oversee this service through a tender.
Margao, Canacona, Karmali, and Tivim in Goa, as well as Karwar, Gokarna Road, and Kumta Railway Station in Karnataka, will offer the suggested bike rental services. All seven stations will be covered by a single contract that will oversee this project.
At each of the seven train stations, the winning bidder will run the bike rental business inside 300 square foot zones. Passengers will have the option to rent motorbikes or scooters for a fee, per the tender.
For an additional fee, the operator will be able to provide extra accessories like jackets, gloves, and helmets. A website or mobile app may be used to access the online booking and delivery system that is part of the service. Only cars with license plates that are registered for rental services—designated by a yellow-on-black color scheme—are allowed, according to the tender.
