PANAJI: The KTC Drivers & Allied Employees Association has served a strike notice to the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC), announcing a 24-hour strike from midnight on November 12 over 18 pending demands.
The association has warned that Kadamba bus services across Goa will come to a complete halt if its grievances are not addressed.
Among the key demands are the regularisation of daily-wage and temporary workers, withdrawal of the new Electronic Ticketing Machine (ETM) system, payment of pending 7th Pay Commission arrears, and improved salaries and facilities for electric bus drivers.
The workers have also demanded the restoration of Provident Fund (PF) benefits, recruitment of 300 new diesel buses, and provision of proper washrooms and restrooms for staff.
The proposed strike could disrupt public transport services across the state, with commuters likely to face inconvenience if the dispute remains unresolved.
The association has urged the corporation to address the workers’ concerns before the proposed shutdown.
