CELEBRATING BOOKS
Nowadays, people make use of the digital library for day-to-day information. It can
record as much information as possible on CDs, castes etc. The Digital library is
the space saver, whereas the traditional library is the space eater. The updating of
information can be done quickly and easily. It has been ascertained that people can
remember only 10% of information by reading, 20% what is heard, 30% what is
viewed, but 50% of information by if it is heard, viewed and discussed, which can
only be possible with audio-visual materials.

Library – The storehouse of knowledge

A library is a collection of books, periodicals, newspapers, films, maps, prints, CDs, videotapes etc. It is called the storehouse of knowledge. It helps us to build our knowledge independently irrespective of caste, religion, age and gender.
We are celebrating 12th August as a national library day to commemorate the birth
anniversary of Dr S.R. Ranganathan, who is called the “Father of library science.”
He has dedicated his entire life to the library profession in India. On this day, all over
In India, various programs are held to enhance public awareness about libraries.
Reading a book can build your vocabulary, reduces stress, increases empathy,
and strengthens the brain; reading a book is an easy way to look after your mind and
body.

Library buildings should be attractive to the people from outside so that more and
more people should visit the library. Library staff should act as a helping hand to
the visitors of the library.
They should properly guide the visitors because user satisfaction is the main concern of every library. In the library building, there should be the availability of natural light in the reading room to avoid strain on the eyes along with the ventilation.
In this way, more and more people will get attracted to the library and will contribute to achieving India’s literacy rate
