CANACONA – Even as empty chair starred, the 3- days 22nd Lokosthav organised by Adarsh Yuwa Sangh and Balram Education Society got of to a flying start at Adarshgram, Poinguinim in Canacona on Friday.
Governor P S Shriddharan Pillai alongwith Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Lokosthav-22, before leaving in a haste to attend another function in North Goa, while Chief Minister too left the venue midway but not before facilitating a galaxy of government officers and others at the venue.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said, saying he has to leave for Mopa, said the Mopa airport will be a boon to the State ringing in Tourism and all around development of the State. ‘ But we are also thing on the people of Canacona, vis-a-vis the Mopa Airport, we intend to improve road structure from Canacona to Margao so that people can reach Margao within 45 min within next 2 years.
Infrastructure and Human development is the backbone of this government, and we are working not only during elections time, but working throughout the periods as we need to bring backward communities like tribal people into the main stream’. CM also said th around 8-meetings of G-20 in scheduled in Goa, our state will get exposure internationally.
Earlier, Governor complimenting the organisation of Lokosthav at an grand level, spoke briefly and left the venue asking to excuse him for his pre -engagement elsewhere in the State.
