MARGAO: Madganvcho Awaaz has announced the results of the Essay Competition organised as part of “Asmitai Vars”, commemorating 60 years of Goa’s historic Opinion Poll (Janmat Kaul). The competition was held for students of Classes VII–VIII and IX–X in Konkani, Marathi and English, with the objective of connecting the younger generation with Goa’s history, identity and heritage.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 130 students representing 15 schools from Margao. Bhatikar Model High School emerged as the leading school, securing nine prizes across the various categories.
For Classes VII & VIII – Konkani, Ashni Nikhil Pai Dukle of Bhatikar Model High School secured First Place, Anvi G. Naik of Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir secured Second Place, and Gautami Gajanan Sinai Salkar of Bhatikar Model High School secured Third Place. Shreyash Sarvesh Kamat and Vihaas Nagvenkar, both of Loyola High School, received Consolation prizes.
For Classes VII & VIII – Marathi, Keyur Yogesh Umarye of Bhatikar Model High School secured First Place, Anant Kunkolikar of Popular High School secured Second Place, and Durva H. Pednekar of Bhatikar Model High School secured Third Place. Zain Haunoor of Shree Damodar Vidhyalaya English High School and Divya Bhardwaj of Bhatikar Model High School received Consolation prizes.
For Classes VII & VIII – English, Vanshika Kashyap of VVM’s Vidya Vikas Academy secured First Place, Aarna Naik Desai of VVM’s Vidya Vikas Academy secured Second Place, and Aaradhya S. Pai Raiturkar of Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir secured Third Place. Jiya Jeevan Narvekar of Fatima Convent High School and Shruti Roy of Shree Damodar Vidhyalaya English High School received Consolation prizes.
For Classes IX & X – Konkani, Subhavi Chetan Desai of Bhatikar Model High School secured First Place, Shiv Nadkarni of Bhatikar Model High School secured Second Place, and Ruthvik V. Lad of Loyola High School secured Third Place. Leeca Fatima Ansari of Iqra English School and Trisha Thapa of Govt Multipurpose High School received Consolation prizes.
For Classes IX & X – Marathi, Anvi Ratnakar Dalvi of Mahila & Nutan English High School secured First Place, Shraunak Naik of Bhatikar Model High School secured Second Place, and Shreyash S. Rangole of Bhatikar Model High School secured Third Place. Aryan Gurusidha Mali of Holy Spirit Institute and Kushi Rajkumar Pandey of Popular High School received Consolation prizes.
For Classes IX & X – English, Rajas R. Prabhu Dessai of Mahila & Nutan English High School secured First Place and Amber Sharon Lourenco of Fatima Convent High School secured Second Place. Isaiah Martires and Erwin Viegas, both of Loyola High School, secured Third Place, while Mihika Guha of VVM’s Vidya Vikas Academy and Sanita Raut Dessai of Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir received Consolation prizes.
Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik congratulated all the winners and participants and thanked the schools, teachers and parents for their enthusiastic participation. He also encouraged students who could not secure a prize this time to take the experience positively, continue learning and writing, and come back with renewed enthusiasm next time. The Prize Distribution Ceremony will be held shortly, and the venue, date and time will be communicated individually to all participating schools.
The Essay Competition forms part of the “Asmitai Vars” celebrations commemorating 60 years of the historic Opinion Poll, aimed at creating greater awareness among the younger generation about this defining chapter in Goa’s history.
