MADKAI: After Calangute constituency, Madkai Assembly constituency has decided to go for an entire lockdown from May 6 to 13.
Madkai MLA Saudin Dhavalikar said that looking at the prevailing situation of COVID, lockdown is necessary.
“I spoke to CM many times to impose curfew and impose lockdown but I do not know for what reasons he is not willing to announce lockdown,” he stated.
Dhavalikar said that all private institutions, NGOs need to provide support for a complete lockdown.
“Today, all sarpanchas of Madkai got together and decided to impose lockdown in Bandora, Kavlem, Vadi Talaulim, Adpai, Madkai and Kundaim from may 6 to 13,” he said.
He said that during the seven days lockdown there will be no impact on essential commodities as shops will be allowed to open from 7 am to 11 am.
“Those working outside in pharmaceutical companies will be allowed. We do not want any law and order situation. We request co-operation from one and all,” he said.
