Mangueshi: The Farmers and Residents of Mangeshi gathered to perform Religious Prayers before Lord Mangesh Mulkeshwar to get justice in the matter related to the destructive construction project being carried out by one Polji in survey no. 45/1B, Mangeshi Priol Village.
It is the belief and faith of the villagers, as told by their ancestors, that they have to resort to their traditional prayers and the ceremony of burning the ‘Bhidi’ before Lord Mulkeshwar to solve grave problems and achieve their objectives for common good.
Today, the villagers carried out the traditional prayers and ceremonies, including burning the ‘Bhidi’, in front of Lord Mulkeshwar to save Mangeshi village from the destruction that will take place, unless the ongoing Polji Construction in survey no. 45/1B, Mangeshi, Priol Village is stopped. From 2016 onwards, the villagers have been carrying out protests and demanding not to permit any construction in survey no. 45/1B, Mangeshi, Priol Village.
The villagers had also adopted a resolution in their Gram Sabha not to grant any construction license in the said survey no. 45/1B, Mangeshi Priol Village.
On 9/2/2021, the Velling Priol Cuncoliem Village Panchayat had done a site inspection and agreed that the ongoing construction is illegal, for which a Panchanama was also done.
Based on the inspection report, it was decided by the Panchayat to issue a Show Cause Notice during the last fortnightly meeting i.e on 12 /02/2021, but till date the Panchayat had not issued any Show Cause Notice to the person carrying out the illegal construction.
Therefore, the villagers decided to pray to their Lord Mulkeshwar, who is the saviour of the village, to invoke His Divine Intervention to ensure that the village is protected from this threat and to replace blind greed with good values in the hearts of all the people acting against the interests of Mangeshi village and the indigenous communities, who are the original inhabitants of these lands.
