PONDA: The newly constructed Sports Complex Ground at Marcaim is built and ready, but no sign of inauguration. The locals now demand its inauguration immediately.
Marcaim Sarpanch Shailendra Panajikar said with the initiative of local MLA and Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar, the work began in 2019 and is done by costing Rs 5.5 Cr.
He said now, as most of the work is almost completed, locals sportsperson want to use it.
The locals question the inauguration delay as local athletes and sportspersons from surrounding areas are inconvenienced.
He said nobody knew why the inauguration was delayed.
In this ambitious project, there is a Badminton and Table Tennis indoor stadium, a gym for young bodybuilders, restrooms, a canteen, changing room for boys and girls, and a playground used for cricket and other games.
