PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has extended his heartiest greetings and warm wishes to the people of Goa on the joyous occasion of 37th Goa Statehood Day.
In his message Dr. Sawant said 30th May is a memorable day in the glorious history of Goa as on this day on 30th May 1987 Goa became a full-fledged 25th State of the Indian Union.
May 30th is a result of the struggle by the Goans and people from across the country to protect Goans’s distinct identity. This momentous occasion also assumes significance as it reminds innumerable Goans to pay tributes to those who have worked tirelessly to shape the destiny of this tiny State of the Country, particularly after a post-liberation period and attainment of Statehood.
The Chief Minister said due to unflinching support and contribution of the people Goa has made remarkable progress in various spheres.
Let us on this occasion work in unison, renewed vigour and with determination to take the state ahead on the path of progress and development, Chief Minister Concluded.
