PANAJI: MGP today said that it is not very keen on challenging the High Court of Bombay at Goa order on disqualification and in turn wait for March 10 election results and then think of next course of action.
The MGP today held its executive committee meeting to dicuss on High Court final order on its disqualification.
“We have held our meeting today and we resolved not to challenge the HC verdict on disqualification in the Supreme atleast at the moment” said MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar after the meeting
He further said that they would Inturn wait for the Goa Assembly Election results on March 10 and take appropriate action.
“We will not take any decision in a hurry, we have decided to wait until March 10,” he added
The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Thursday had dismissed the appeals filed by the Congress and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) against the 12 rebel MLAs.
Both, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar and MGP legislator Sudin Dhavalikar had challenged the Goa Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar’s verdict dated April 2021, dismissing their disqualification petitions against the rebel MLAs.
Soon after the judgement was pronounced Chodankar said that the party will file an appeal before the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order.
