PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that Goa will soon have a minimally invasive and robotic department at Goa Medical College in Bambolim.
Announcing this, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the dept will be equipped with state-of-the-art advanced laparoscopic surgery technology which will be made available to the people on January 26, 2024.
This marks a significant milestone, as it will be the first government hospital in the country to offer such advanced equipment, enabling surgeries to be conducted free of charge.
‘i am happy to announce that we will soon have a minimally invasive and robotic department at Goa Gmc, equipped with state-of-the-art advanced laparoscopic surgery technology which will be made available to the people on January 26, 2024,” he added
He further said that marks a significant milestone, as it will be the first government hospital in the country to offer such advanced equipment, enabling surgeries to be conducted free of charge.
“This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for healthcare excellence, emphasizing access to the best medical services for the people.,” he added
Rane said that this department will specifically benefit patients with complex surgeries as a multidisciplinary team with inputs from Gastroenterologists, urologists, surgical oncologists will be available under one roof to get the best possible outcomes.
“This department will ensure a substantial reduction in waiting times, expedited discharges, precision in surgeries and more. We are dedicated to shaping the “Goa model for health”.
