PORVORIM: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho said that it was an advantage for the BJP in the upcoming elections with many political parties coming to the state.
“We will also sweep the upcoming elections in 2022 and form the government; we do not have any difficulty. All our karyakartas are working hard. Many more party’s coming to Goa is merrier situation to us,” said Godinho
He said that BJP is on firm ground, and people want a developmental and good governance government.
Speaking on Taxi Digital Meters, Godinho said that Rs 11,234 will be credited directly to the account of the taxi owners immediately after their vehicle has been fitted with a digital meter.
“Taxi operators will just have to fill a form after fixing the meter and submit the documents to the Department of Transport,” Godinho said.
He said the State government has issued a notification amending the ‘Goa State Public Transport Reimbursement of Cost of Digital Fare Meter 2021’ Scheme.
The Transport Minister has said that the state government has informed the High Court of Bombay at Goa that digital meters on tourist taxis will be completed by Oct 31, 2021.
He also informed the HC that if any of these taxi drivers install the digital fare meters, then liberty may be granted to the State to restore their permits.
