CANACONA : A Mobile Ambulance with almost all the Health Check-up facilities free-of-Cost is provided to create health awareness amongst the people of rural areas of Canacona Taluka on Saturday.
The Mobile Ambulance have the facilities of Blood examinations including for Diabetes, Cholesterol, etc, Blood-Presure, ECG, etc.
On the occasion Free Health Checkup camp and and Free Eye Check-ups were held, providing free medicines and also distributed 34 numbers of spectacles to the beneficiaries who underwent eye treatment from Marlim-Tirwal ward of Poinguinim, recently.
The Free Mobile ambulance was inaugurated by cutting of ribbon at the hands of Canacona MLA and Goa Lagislatuive Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, in the presence of Founder of Mukta Drishti Foundation Seagram One Rupee Fund Kishore Sarsolkar, Principal Representative of Rotary Club Madgaon, Midtown Dr. Leni D’Costa, Deputy Collector of Canacona Taluka Ramesh Gaonkar, Shristhal Panchayat Sarpanch Mrs. Sejal Gaonkar, Sarpanch of Khotigao Anandu Desai, Sarpanch of Poinguinim Panchayat Mrs. Savita Tawadkar and Health Officer of Community Health Center, Canacona Dr. Jose Tavaris.
The Mobile Ambulance was sponsored by Mukta Drishti Foundation a well known social welfare organization in Goa which was established by Kishore Sarsolkar, at Dhargal Pernem- Goa in association with other Social Welfare Organizations namelySeagram One Rupee Fund, Indian Red Cross Society, Goa Division, Rotary Club of Madgaon Midtown through their CSR Funds.
Stating his organization is working for the noble purpose of social service and implementing various social activities in and outside Goa for the upliftment of the weaker section of the society, Sarsolkar informed, they will also serve the people of the rural areas of Canacona, especially providing better health nbenefits for the weaker section of the society, with a main aim to create awareness amongst them about their health.
Keeping health awareness program in mind, and the easy availability of the mobile ambulance, the Community Health Center, Canacona organised free health check-up of the participant’s while Mukta Drishti Foundation conducted free eye testing, and provided rovided necessary medicines to the patients through its health quota.
The Mobile Van(Ambulance) is equipped with ECG, HbA1c for Diabetic report, Glucometer, Hemoglobin machine, Oxymeter for oxygen Checkup, Nubilizer, Oxygen, Measurements of Height & Weight, Pressure Checkup, Blood Pressure Checkup, Oxygen Cylinder, Refrigerator for medicines store, Stethoscope etc..
Rotary Club’s Dr. Leni D’Costa also expressed his views and assured that his services will continue to be the same in the coming period as there is an urgent need to provide basic facilities like health to the people in rural areas.
Dy Collector, Canacona Taluka, Ramesh Gaonkar and Health Officer Dr. Tavaris were felicitated with a shawl and Shrifal for their hard and dedicated work.
Panch Members of various Panchayat, ex-member of Gram Panchayats, Social activists from various sectors, Sristhala Biodiversity Committee Chairman Vinay Tubki, Agonda Biodiversity Committee Chairman Shaba Naik Gaonkar, members Shirish Pai, Pandurang Gaonkar and villagers were present in large numbers. The entire program was coordinated by Dr. Diwakarji Velip and Damodar Chari gave a vote of thanks.
According to source,s the Mobile Ambulance will be stationed atht he CHC Compound and whill be available for holding free health check-up camps in vaiorus parts of the taluka , especially in coordination and help of CHC Doctors and Medics.
