QUEPEM: Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar expressed disagreement inside the party on by reiterating his displeasure with the work of some state ministers. He claimed to have already brought up the matter with the party’s leadership.
Tawadkar was speaking to a crowd during the Margao Bhagwan Birsa Munda Gaurav Yatra, which was organized to increase public awareness of the national Scheduled Tribe leader’s life and legacy.
“There is no question of showing strength with this rally,” he remarked in response to a query about whether the turnout was a sign of support for Tawadkar. There has been strong support for raising awareness about Birsa Munda everywhere we have gone. Our objective is to inspire young people and draw attention to his contributions.
The turnout for the rally was larger than anticipated.
Tawadkar attributed the reaction to the people’s enthusiasm for the cause, saying, “We expected 700-800 attendees, but around 1,500 people joined on the first day, and thousands participated from Quepem in Salcete.”
Tawadkar rejected the idea of competitiveness in response to rumors of a confrontation with Minister Govind Gaude, equating disagreements with those within families or communities. “I have different ideas and opinions than other party members. There is no competition, and they are working to the best of their skills,” he stated.
According to Tawadkar, he had officially complained about instances of rudeness from fellow party members. “I take care to avoid offending anyone and demand the same deference in return. I have informed the parties about the three incidents of disrespect that have occurred.
