PANAJI: As is the nationwide trend, the State has also witnessed a huge jump in the COVID19 cases.
As on Thursday, March 26, 2021, Goa has 1278 COVID19 active cases taking the State’s tally to 57170.
On Thursday the State witnessed 189 cases, 66 recoveries and one death.
Shockingly, 997 cases were reported in last eight days while the recoveries are just 514 cases and 10 people have lost their lives.
In last eight days, the cases have breached the 100-mark for five times.
While the State’s tally has reached 57170, recoveries has reached 55070 and 822 have lost their lives.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant while cancelling the Shigmo celebrations has also urged the citizens to take precautions.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has welcomes CM’s decision saying “We welcome the decision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to cancel the Shigmo parade in view of the rising cases in the state.”
He further said, ”It is my appeal to all to follow the SOPs of the Government to ensure we keep the virus at bay.”
