PANAJI: In order to regulate the tourism industry in the State, the Goa government has proposed the “Goa Tourism Promotion, Management and Regulation (GTPMR) Bill, 2024” and is asking for comments, objections, and suggestions on the draft of the bill by July 6.
The bill, according to the department, is a comprehensive legislation/act to integrate and revamp the current laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines that oversee different facets of Goa’s tourism industry.
On the proposed bill, opinions have been requested from the travel and tourism sector, industry associations, policy advocacy groups, and all other interested parties, including the general public.
This public notice states that suggestions can be emailed to dir-tour.goa@nic.in by June 7, 2024, at the latest. Only the 2023 version of the draft bill GTPMR 2024 is accessible on the website at https://goatourism.gov.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/GTPMR-bill-2023.pdf, despite the public notice stating otherwise.
