VASCO: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday evening said that the New Sancoale panchayat Ghar will be one of the biggest panchayat Ghars in Goa with all modern facilities.
“The Sancoale Panchayat will soon lay a foundation for its new Panchayat Ghar, and I will give them the date after a few formalities are completed. This Panchayat Ghar will be the biggest panchayat ghar in Goa and will have all amenities and facilities and a revenue model which other panchayats have to emulate. We are offering finance of Rs 3.5 crores, and the panchayat will spend the remaining money, and this panchayat Ghar will have a conference room, meeting room and even space for video conferencing as revenue earning model. Teh Panchayat will recover whatever is spent on this panchayat Ghar as well,” said Godinho.
Sancoale Dy Sarpanch Girish Pillai said that while the Government will give funds of 3.5 crores, the panchayat will spend around 9 to 10 crores for the new panchayat ghar.
“Many people in Gramsabha make issues about the new panchayat Ghar but never come forward to support us. We have got sponsored land, and we will now systematically lay out the foundation stone for this dream project. This time we will lay the foundation stone and directly start work, and request some people not to spread lies and misguide people on this panchayat Ghar project. We are working as a team for the development of the village, and we will get the best panchayat ghar in Goa for the villagers, which will have the best amenities and facilities,” said Pillai.
Pillai also appealed to the people to help the panchayat tackle the garbage issue.
“We have to be united to keep the village clean and give the panchayat segregated garbage so that the collection is done systematically. This will help the panchayat tackle the garbage menace and also keep the village neat and clean,” said Pillai.
