PANAJI: Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, expressed profound grief over the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, describing it as a great loss to the global community. In an official statement, the Chief Minister lauded the Pope’s lifelong dedication to peace, compassion, and humanitarian service that transcended religious and national boundaries.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. His unwavering commitment to peace, compassion, and the upliftment of humanity transcended all borders and faiths,” the Chief Minister said.
On behalf of the Government of Goa, Dr. Sawant extended heartfelt condolences to the Catholic community in Goa and across the world. “May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
